The ACP — Automóvel Club de Portugal, organiser of the bp Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal, is committed to the FIA Sustainability Programme and the FIM Environmental Code, with the objective of minimising the environmental impact of the event and setting an example in environmental responsibility, both nationally and internationally.
Through its Environmental Management System, the Rally-Raid is guided by the following key principles:
- Comply with applicable environmental legislation and voluntary commitments, including the FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme and the FIM Environmental Code;
- Inform and train everyone involved in the organisation regarding the environmental policy;
- Promote environmental awareness among stakeholders, including organisers, riders, teams, volunteers, media, spectators and suppliers;
- Integrate environmental criteria into the selection of partners, suppliers and services;
- Reduce the environmental impact of transport by encouraging car sharing and the use of public transport;
- Monitor the environmental impact of the event, including energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, water usage and waste management;
- Promote proactive management of environmental risks, including pollution prevention and emergency response;
- Encourage continuous improvement of environmental processes and objectives.
This environmental policy will be regularly reviewed and updated, ensuring the continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System.
