FIM Final Press Conference

1st MOTO & 2025 WORLD CHAMPION | DANIEL SANDERS | RED BULL KTM FACTORY RACING

“It’s been a great week and I’m super happy with the outcome: wrapping up the World Championship early and also taking the win here in Portugal. It’s really, really good and we’re always happy when we win. Every day was a bit different — from the terrain, to the tires, to the length of the stages, even the rain yesterday which changed everything. I really enjoyed the race. I spent a lot of time on the bike, which actually surprised me, as I thought the stages would be shorter because of the restrictions of racing in Europe.”

2nd MOTO | TOSHA SCHAREINA | MONSTER ENERGY HONDA HRC

“It was a good fight. Yesterday (Saturday) I lost four minutes — it was a navigation mistake. No excuses, it’s part of the game. Daniel did a great job, he deserves the championship and the win here. But we need to improve. I’ll prepare myself for Morocco and hope to have another shot.”

3rd MOTO | LUCIANO BENAVIDES | RED BULL KTM FACTORY RACING

“Every time we get on the bike, we want to fight for the win — that’s also the main goal for the Red Bull KTM Factory team. But I’m really happy with another podium and also a stage win, because since Dakar I hadn’t managed to win any specials. I’m also very pleased that Daniel won the title, because it means we kept the trophy within the team. The fight in Morocco will be for second place: me, Ricky and Tosha are really close in points. It’s going to be a great battle.”

1st MOTO RALLY 2 | EDGAR CANET | RED BULL KTM FACTORY RACING

“Last year I wasn’t even racing and Bruno took the win. This year I trained in Portugal, but I think Bruno is the fastest rider in the country. I’m really happy, and also for KTM. I feel like I’m making important steps forward at every race, improving in every aspect. Here, I made no navigation mistakes and didn’t pick up any penalties. It was a really good result.”

1st QUAD & WORLD CUP WINNER | GAËTAN MARTINEZ | CF MOTO THUNDER RACING

“At the start I wasn’t really thinking about the championship. This is a big achievement, both personally and for the brand and the team. It’s an important step, because it was the first time we did the full championship.”

ANDREAS HÖLZL – TEAM MANAGER RED BULL KTM FACTORY RACING

“Having a World Champion here is just perfect. The secret? Well, only Daniel knows... But we have to acknowledge the way he managed the whole season, from the opening round in Qatar, winning several races and stages. It’s something never seen before at KTM. He raced really smart and I’m super proud. Also with Luciano, who was under pressure and delivered — having him on the podium was excellent. In two weeks we’re in Morocco, hopefully everything goes well. And congratulations also to Edgar, our rookie, only 20 years old. He’s only got one or two years of rally experience and already shows he’s the future. I also want to recall a phrase from one of our sponsors who passed away: ‘if we want to achieve goals together, we must speak to each other and not about each other.’ That’s the spirit KTM needs. These three riders push each other and support one another, and that’s how we reach our goals.”

1st PORTUGUESE | BRUNO SANTOS | BS FRUTAS PATRICIA PILAR

“It didn’t go the way I wanted. These riders are fantastic, on another level, extremely fast. Today was an example of that. I gave my best. I thought I had done very well in the end, since my goal was higher. It’s very difficult for me to race in the desert — it’s not my natural habitat. We Europeans are used to tighter tracks, with trees. Even so, I’m happy to be here and able to compete at this level. I came late into rally-raid, but I’ve grown as a rider and to be battling against these names is already a privilege. I would have liked to win a stage, but I got a one-minute penalty for speeding. The level is much more competitive this year. There are many fast riders, which is good for Portugal, for the competition, and for the championship.”
