TOSHA SCHAREINA FASTEST ON PROLOGUE STAGE IN BIKES

Monster Energy Honda Team’s Tosha Schareina won the Prologue stage at the bp Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal on Wednesday morning.

The Spaniard carded a time of 3min 29sec and headed a Honda 1-2 by two seconds from team-mate Adrien van Beveren on a stage that determines the starting order for the first of the selective sections on Wednesday afternoon.

 

W2RC leader Ross Branch of Botswana came home in third of the RallyGP bikers on his Hero Motorsports Rally Team machine. His German team-mate Sebastien Bühler was fourth and Honda’s Pablo Quintanilla rounded off the top five.

 

Edgar Canet was the quickest of the Rally2 riders on his KTM, the Spanish finishing the stage six seconds faster than South African rider Bradley Cox from the Bas World KTM Racing Team and in third place in the overall rankings. Portugal’s Gonçalo Amaral drew first blood in Rally 3 on his Honda.

 

Manuel Andujar clocked the fastest time of 3min 45sec among the 10 quad riders and was two seconds quicker than Polish rival Kamil Wisniewski. Yamahas filled the top four positions in the classification.
