After winning ACP's Baja Portalegre 500, Bruno Santos made his Dakar debut in January and was the second best rookie in Saudi Arabia. Racing at home is, of course, special for the two-time Portuguese Rally-Raid champion.
Bruno Santos' first experience of the Dakar Rally was a positive one and the Husqvarna rider hopes to build on that momentum to shine in the BP Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal, on terrain he knows well.
"It's a different experience to the one I had in January at the Dakar, where we had a desert; here we have the Portuguese tracks, in the interior of the country, an area we're familiar with. Of course it has its difficulties, but they are two completely different realities. It's very interesting to have a race like this in the World Championship. I'm very curious to try a Rally-Raid in Portugal and see how I measure up against the best drivers in the world," said Bruno Santos.
"I've had a whole year's work to prepare for the Dakar and now I hope to use that pace for the ACP event, with shorter stages and not so tough terrain. I feel well prepared," concluded the Terras Vedras rider, who won the Baja Portalegre 500 on motorcycles exactly ten years after his debut in the Alentejo classic.
